I am glad to tell you that we at Green Carpet has decided to take you all on a trail to a place which is one of the best monsoon trek.We are going to Rajmachi this time and we are taking you with us!

Grade: Easy - Medium
Location : Near Lonavala

Rajmachi: Rajmachi is a beautiful plateau nestled midst 2 magnificent forts, Shrivardan and Manoranjan.The word ‘Machi’ in Marathi means ‘Plateau’, this plateau is at a height of almost 2500-2700 feet above MSL.

Shrivardan: This magnificent fort, which stands at a height of almost 3000 feet, overlooks the Lonavala region and was built to keep a watch on trade route passing through the Bhor Ghats.

Manranjan: The smaller fort, yet more expansive overlooks the Karjat region. One can see the entire railway route from Karjat to Lonavala from this fort.

For Mumbai and Pune People :Karjat Railway station at 8.10 am on 29th June (Pune people can reach by sinhagad express)

Participants are requested to take their own tickets till karjat.

Important Rules & Regulations
  • Liquor is strictly prohibited. Any individual found to be in possession of liquor or consuming the same will be immediately expelled from the trek group. No refund will be provided.   
  • If any individual wants to smoke he may do so at a clearing and with any of the group leader’s permission. He will have to move away from the group and smoke so that other members are not inconvenienced.
  • Utmost care is taken to ensure safety of the group, however none of the leaders would be responsible for any kind of accidents.

Hey Hi friends I am glad to tell you that Green Carpet have organized 1 day trek to Manikgad on 23rd June 2013 (Sunday)

Height: 1900 ft
Grade: Easy
Base Village: Vadgaon

Manikgad is situated in north north konkan near chawk village. 
It can be seen while one is travelling on the old Mumbai - Pune highway. Manikgad is situated on a range that is isolated from the main sahyadri range. There is not much to see atop Manikgad. However it offers commanding view of the surrounding land. One can see the Karnala pinnacle, Prabalgad, Irshalgad.

Note: There is no water source on the way from Vadgaon to Manikgad . Hence it is necessary to carry ample amount of water. Also there is no place to stay on top of Manikgad

Grade: Easy - Medium

Fort Kalawantindurg is situated on northeast side of Panvel, on Mumbai-Pune road. Can see it from express highway a V-Shaped one. The Left one is Kalwantin Durg & right side is Prabalgad. But there is a dense forest on the way till the the top of fort Prabal. Historical references indicate that Freedom fighter Umaji Naik made a stay here in 1826.
